St. Thomas vs Parish Episcopal - 2023 Week 15 Football Highlights
St. Thomas was in the TAPPS Division 1 State final on the back of a 497 yard effort from Johann Cardenas in the semifinal. How much gas would he have left for 4 time defending champion, Parish Episcopal?
The answer was plenty as he scored on the opening drive from 2 yards out to put the Eagles up 7-0
In the 3rd quarter, St. Thomas found themselves down 19-7, but Cardenas would find his way to the end zone again. It was the 2nd of 3 scores for the Vanderbilt commit.
3 minutes left in the quarter and Donte Lewis stays in the pocket long enough to find Luke Edgecomb for a 21 yard touchdown pass play. Add the 2 point conversion and St. Thomas led 22-19.
But Parish Episcopal's Maddux Reid was too shifty to stop on the ground. He ran for 188 yards and 4 touchdowns as Parish Episcopal wins their 5 straight TAPPS title 40-29. Ending the Eagles magnificent season.
