Cy Falls Stays Unbeaten, Tops Fort Bend Travis 35-11 Behind Big Plays

Two unbeaten 6A programs met at Fort Bend Travis, and it was Cy Falls that left with its perfect record intact, handing the host Tigers a 35-11 defeat to move to 3-0 on the season.

Travis drew first blood when DeQuaidrian Dorough took a handoff, found a blocker, and followed him into the end zone. The lead was short-lived. Karzell Davis fielded the ensuing kickoff at his own 12-yard line, cut right, found a seam, and turned it into an 88-yard return touchdown. Cy Falls held a 16-7 advantage at the half.

The Eagles kept the pressure on in the third quarter with one of the more memorable plays of the night. Facing a fourth-and-short, Murry Charles took the ball, slipped through traffic, broke free from a crowd of defenders, and finished off a 26-yard score. Tristan McCoy added to the ground attack later in the period as Cy Falls continued to control the line of scrimmage.

The final score of 35-11 was a statement for a Cy Falls squad that has now outscored opponents convincingly through three weeks. For Fort Bend Travis, it marks the first blemish of the young season.
