Randle Gets Revenge Over South Oak Cliff in Non-District Showdown | Game of the Week

September 4, 2026
Richmond Randle beat South Oak Cliff 22-14 in a non-district opener, with Landon Williams-Callus scoring twice in the 5A showdown at Prairie View A&M.

Two of the most decorated programs in recent 5A Division II history met before district play even began, and Richmond Randle made sure the result went in its favor. The 2024 state champions topped South Oak Cliff — the 2025 title holders — 22-14 in a non-district game held at Prairie View A&M.

With Randle moving up to 5A Division I this season, the matchup carried extra weight. The two programs had met in back-to-back Division II state championship games, and this was their first chance to settle things outside of a title game setting.

Randle's Landon Williams-Callus was the standout performer, scoring from 24 yards out in the first quarter to put the Lions in front 13-0, then delivering a critical 20-yard touchdown run on a counter in the second half to push the lead back out. South Oak Cliff showed fight — Christopher Odom picked up a big return off a deflected pass, and Kenneth Young punched in a two-yard score to keep SOC within striking distance at halftime — but the Golden Bears couldn't complete the comeback. Kenneth Young added another score for SOC in the second half, but Randle's defense held firm down the stretch.

The final score of 22-14 gives Randle an early-season statement win and a measure of revenge heading into what will be a new competitive landscape in Division I.
