Magnolia West Walks Off Cy Woods 4-3 in 6A Division 2 Baseball Playoffs
A walk-off home run decided a tightly contested 6A Division 2 opening-round playoff matchup between Cy Woods and Magnolia West.
Defense set the tone early as Cy Woods outfielder Aidan Haby made a full-extension catch that stood out as one of the game's highlight plays. Magnolia West struck first and built a 3-0 lead in the fourth inning when Beckett Steele cleared the bases with a double to the right field wall. Brayden Campbell and Kyle Mercer both scored on the play, while Jade Huff was thrown out trying to score from first.
Cy Woods battled back and tied the game at 3-3 when Ross Sullivan lined a curveball into right field, allowing Garrett Wright to score on a head-first slide at the plate. The game remained deadlocked until the seventh inning, when Garrett Bagwell delivered the decisive blow with a home run to left field.
Magnolia West won 4-3 and advanced to the area finals.
