Klein Oak Walks Off Bridgeland 4-3 in 6A-Division 1 Baseball
A late-inning rally lifted Klein Oak past Bridgeland in a 6A-Division 1 district matchup that came down to the final frame.
The Panthers struck early when Brady Fortunato launched a two-run home run over the right field wall in the first inning, staking Klein Oak to a 2-0 advantage. Bridgeland answered with a run in the second and seized the lead in the third on a two-run single to left by Colton Urban, making it 3-2.
Klein Oak's offense came alive again in the bottom of the sixth. Matthew Hanson ripped a one-hop double off the left field wall, scoring Hank Bills from second to tie the game at 3-3. Moments later, Landon Espinoza drew a bases-loaded walk that plated Fortunato, giving the Panthers a 4-3 edge.
Ben Millhouse closed out the complete-game victory in the top of the seventh, striking out the final Bridgeland batter to secure the 4-3 win for Klein Oak.
