Houston Juniors Finish Top 20 at USA Volleyball Junior Nationals
Against the best club programs in the country, Houston Juniors 17-U Volleyball Club made a statement at USA Volleyball Junior Nationals in Indianapolis. The club went 6-0 in match wins and finished inside the top 20 nationally — a strong result on the biggest stage in junior club volleyball.
The roster was stacked with college-bound talent from across the Houston area. UNLV commit Reina Jones of Fulshear ran the offense at setter, connecting with USC commit Willtrace Ngoh of Seven Lakes, who used touch and finesse to put away points against High Performance out of St. Louis. Tomball's Gemma Hopkins, headed to Arkansas, painted the line for an ace, while Kentucky commit Saniya Reynolds of Cy Ranch was a force at the net with clean, efficient putaways.
Though Houston Juniors fell to High Performance in that particular match, the club's overall performance — six wins and a top-20 national finish — reflected the depth of talent coming out of the Houston area. For these players, it was a final chapter in their club careers before moving on to compete at the college level.
