Atascocita Baseball Edges Fort Bend Ridge Point 2-1 in Area Final

A complete-game effort from Jaxon McKnight carried Atascocita to a 2-1 victory over Fort Bend Ridge Point in an area final, extending the Eagles' season win total to 30 games.

Atascocita struck first in the second inning when John Dolan sent a shot to left-center field. Despite a strong effort from John Rangel, the ball dropped in, allowing Cole Edwards to score and give the Eagles a 1-0 lead.

Ridge Point answered in the fourth inning as Chris Racey ripped a ball to the wall in right-center, plating Travis Fiedler to tie the game at 1-1.

The decisive blow came in the sixth inning when JC Ortiz launched a no-doubt home run to left field, putting Atascocita back on top 2-1.

McKnight closed out the game in the bottom of the seventh, inducing a game-ending double play to secure the complete-game victory for the Eagles.
