Texas A&M Commit CJ Sampson Leads Nationally Ranked Tomball Baseball

Texas A&M commit CJ Sampson anchors a nationally ranked Tomball baseball program seeking its third straight state tournament appearance.

Pitching depth often dictates the ceiling for high school baseball programs in Texas, and few schools boast a more reliable arm than the one anchoring the rotation in Tomball.

The nationally ranked Cougars are currently navigating a challenging schedule with their sights set on a third consecutive trip to the state tournament. A significant factor in that sustained success is senior pitcher CJ Sampson. Following a junior season where he compiled a 12-2 record with a staggering 0.93 ERA and a .330 batting average, the Texas A&M commit has continued to deliver in high-leverage situations, helping Tomball secure multiple one-run victories early in the season.

Beyond his high school accolades, which include a state championship as a sophomore and a runner-up finish as a junior, Sampson brings international experience to the mound. Over the summer, he captured a World Cup title in Japan with the Team USA Under-18 national squad. The son of former Houston Astros pitcher Chris Sampson, he credits his father's daily guidance and a combination of velocity, control, and baseball IQ for his dominance on the hill.
