Landen Williams-Callis: Richmond Randle's Record-Breaking RB Headed to Texas
Nine thousand career yards is a number most high school running backs never approach. Landen Williams-Callis of Richmond Randle is nearly there, entering Week 8 of the season with just under that mark and no signs of slowing down.
The Lions' standout back has already rewritten the greater Houston area touchdown record, surpassing the previous mark held by his cousin, former NFL running back Jacquizz Rogers. Now he has his sights set on an even larger milestone — the Texas all-time career yardage record, which sits just 2,400 yards away.
Elusive and difficult to bring down in the open field, Williams-Callis has been the engine behind Randle's push for a third consecutive title game appearance. The Lions' postseason run will depend heavily on whether opposing defenses can find an answer for a back who has consistently made them look like they cannot.
This week's Parker University MVP will take his talents to Austin after his career at Randle concludes, having committed to the University of Texas.
