Kinkaid RB Wayne Shanks Jr. Erupts for 281 Yards & 6 TDs vs. Episcopal

November 5, 2026
Kinkaid RB Wayne Shanks Jr. ran for 281 yards and 6 TDs against Episcopal as the Falcons pursue a third straight SPC title.

Few running backs in Houston private school football carry the kind of all-around threat that Wayne Shanks Jr. brings to Kinkaid's backfield. After rushing for nearly 1,800 yards and 24 touchdowns in just 11 games last season, the Falcons' junior tailback picked up right where he left off — exploding for 281 yards and six touchdowns against rival Episcopal to open the new campaign.

Kinkaid competes in the Southwest Preparatory Conference, one of the most competitive private school leagues in Texas, and the Falcons are chasing a third consecutive SPC championship. Shanks is a cornerstone of that pursuit — dangerous as a runner, a pass-catcher out of the backfield, and a factor on special teams.

The performance against Episcopal, a longtime SPC rival, underscored why Shanks has drawn major college attention. He has committed to Arizona, where he will play in the Big 12, adding another chapter to a recruiting trail that reflects his standing among the top backs in the Houston area.
