Lake Creek softball wins its 4th title in 5 years, edging Brewer 6-5 in a back-and-forth championship game decided by a daring baserun.

Four titles in five years. Lake Creek softball added another championship to its dynasty résumé, outlasting Brewer 6-5 in a game that swung back and forth before the Lions found a way to close it out.

It was a rough start for Lake Creek. Camren Pride sent Sara Wiggins deep in the first inning — a 3-run shot off the foul pole — and Brewer had an early 3-0 advantage. The Lions chipped away in the second, with Miranda Orso delivering a sacrifice fly to score Gracie Brewer and pull the deficit to one.

The turning point came in the third. Wiggins drove a deep fly ball to center that nearly ended in a highlight-reel catch, but the ball popped out of the glove. Madalyn Davis and Abby Estay both scored on the play, and Lake Creek had a 5-3 lead. Brewer answered to tie the game, but Davis wasn't done. With the Lions needing a run, she read a grounder perfectly from third base and slid in just under the tag — the go-ahead run that held up as the winner.

Wiggins closed it out by getting Brewer to ground out to Addie Davis, and the Lions had their championship — 6-5, and a fourth title in five years.
