Dobie Softball Eliminates Ridge Point 6-1 to Advance to Area Finals

May 6, 2026
Pasadena Dobie defeats Fort Bend Ridge Point 6-1 in a winner-take-all playoff game to punch their ticket to the area finals.

A winner-take-all playoff berth brought Pasadena Dobie and Fort Bend Ridge Point together, and Dobie wasted no time making a statement. The Lady Longhorns jumped on Ridge Point in the first inning and never looked back, advancing to the area finals with a 6-1 victory.

Persephone Soria got things started with a rope into the left-field corner, plating Destiny Sidiropoulos all the way from first base. Maddi Campos followed with a gap shot to right-center, scoring Soria and Madison Villatoro to put Dobie up 3-0 after one inning.

Ridge Point threatened in the second with two runners in scoring position, but Vanessa De La Fuente struck out the side to end the threat and keep the deficit at three. Dobie extended the lead in the fourth when Gabby Ramirez lined a single to left, bringing home Genesis Leal and Sidiropoulos to push the advantage to 6-0.

Ridge Point put runners on in the seventh, but Ali Johnson induced a pop-up and Alexis Martinez made an over-the-shoulder catch down the line to seal it. Dobie survives and advances, 6-1 the final.
