Clear Creek Ends Katy Jordan's 10-Game Win Streak in Playoff Thriller

Two 10-game winning streaks collided when Clear Creek faced Katy Jordan in a playoff matchup that lived up to its billing.

The game remained scoreless into the fourth inning when Clear Creek's Samantha Tumbleson launched a solo home run over the wall to give the Lady Wildcats a 1-0 lead.

Jordan responded in the top of the fifth as Madison Douglass delivered a clutch single to left field, plating Veronica Davila to tie the score at 1-1. Clear Creek pitcher Harlie Wright escaped further trouble by striking out the final batter of the inning.

The decisive moment came in the bottom of the sixth. Wright hit a fly ball to center field, and Sydney Deterback tagged up and advanced to third base. When the throw got away from the infielder, Deterback broke for home and slid in safely with what proved to be the game-winning run.

Clear Creek held on for the 2-1 victory, snapping Jordan's winning streak and later taking the series to advance in the playoffs.
