Kingwood's Kennedy Brown: Texas A&M Commit and One of Texas' Top OL Prospects
Size alone doesn't make an elite offensive lineman, but at 6-foot-5 and 330 pounds of what his head coach describes as solid muscle, Kennedy Brown gives any defensive end a long night before the snap even happens.
The Kingwood Mustangs senior is already committed to Texas A&M University and is widely regarded as one of the premier offensive tackle prospects in the state of Texas. Head coach Stacy Williams, who knows the Kingwood program well having served as an assistant there coaching defensive backs and receivers before a stint at The Woodlands, says Brown is entering his senior season in the best shape of his life.
Williams, who played receiver at Baylor, has seen plenty of talent come through the program, but he's been clear about where Brown stands—a future collegiate starter with NFL potential down the road. For the Mustangs, having that kind of anchor up front heading into the season is a significant advantage for their quarterback and the entire offense.
Brown gets one more year in a Kingwood uniform before moving on to College Station, and for a program and community that has rallied around him, that's something worth watching this fall.
