Katy DB David Olotu-Judah Is a Ball Hawk With Power 5 Offers Piling Up

October 7, 2026
Katy junior DB David Olotu-Judah averages an interception per game and holds offers from Ohio State, Texas Tech, SMU and more as the Tigers roll undefeated.

Seven interceptions as a sophomore. A three-pick game against Dickinson. Power Five offers from Ohio State, Texas Tech, Northwestern, and Arizona before his junior season is even finished. David Olotu-Judah is making a strong case as the most dangerous defensive back in the Houston area.

The 6-foot-1, 160-pound junior plays for an undefeated Katy Tigers program that has consistently ranked among the top teams in Texas. Olotu-Judah has been a central reason why opposing offenses are rethinking their approach—his ability to read routes and close on the ball mirrors what you'd expect from a receiver, not a cornerback. He doesn't just deflect passes; he catches them.

His breakout moment came against Dickinson, when he pulled down three interceptions in a single game. Last season he finished with seven picks, one of which he returned for a touchdown. This year, he's on pace to surpass that total, averaging an interception per game through Katy's undefeated start.

The football instincts appear to run in the family. His brother Jed signed with Old Dominion as a safety, giving the Olotu-Judah name a growing presence at the college level. David, a Class of 2028 prospect, has already drawn scholarship offers from Ohio State, Texas Tech, Houston, SMU, Northwestern, and Arizona—a list that figures to grow as the Tigers continue their run.
