Keldric Benn: Montgomery's Oklahoma-Bound RB to Watch in 2025-26
Coming off a junior season that turned heads across the Houston area, Keldric Benn has already made one of the biggest decisions of his football life — and he still has a full senior year ahead of him.
The Montgomery running back finished the 2025 season with 1,560 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns in 11 games, averaging close to 10 yards per carry. He also contributed as a receiver, hauling in 16 passes for nearly 300 yards and three additional scores. As a sophomore, Benn saw limited action but still managed 375 yards and five touchdowns — a sign of what was coming.
At 5-foot-8 and 210 pounds, Benn combines the kind of power and burst that drew offers from some of the country's most prominent programs. He ultimately committed to Oklahoma over Texas, Florida, Oregon, and USC — a list that reflects the level of national attention he's generated out of Montgomery.
A track athlete who competes in the 100 and 200 meters, Benn brings legitimate speed to go with his physicality. He's described as powerfully shifty — a back who can make defenders miss but also welcomes contact. That combination is rare, and it's what separates him from most backs at the high school level.
With Benn entering his senior season, Montgomery's ground game figures to be one of the more closely watched in the region as the 2025-26 football calendar gets underway.
