Jeff Rush Williams Is Jordan's Next Big Weapon — And He Has NFL DNA

Football bloodlines run deep in the Williams family. Reggie Williams was the ninth overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft and spent five seasons as a wide receiver with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Now his son, Jeff Rush Williams, is writing his own chapter at Katy Jordan — and the early returns suggest he won't need his father's résumé to get noticed.

The 6-foot-3, 185-pound sophomore cracked the Warriors' receiver rotation as a freshman and is coming off a season in which Jordan finished 9-4. Head coach Michael Bay returns 16 starters from that squad, and Williams — with his combination of size and speed rare for a player his age — is expected to be the focal point of the passing game as Jordan pursues a district title in 22-6A.

Last season, Williams hauled in 38 receptions for 528 yards and six touchdowns, numbers that signal a player already operating beyond his class year. With that kind of production as a baseline heading into his sophomore campaign, the Warriors' offense could be one of the more dangerous units in the Katy area this fall.
