Aaron Fuller Wins Softball Coach of the Year After Barbers Hill's State Title

Twelve years into his tenure at Barbers Hill, Aaron Fuller has turned the Eagles' softball program into one of the most consistent in the state of Texas — and a second 5A Division I state championship only reinforced that standing. Fuller is the Parker University Softball Coach of the Year.

Barbers Hill closed out the season with an 11-0 run rule victory over Aledo in the state championship game, finishing 41-4. The Eagles averaged more than seven runs per game in the postseason, a product of what Fuller describes as a disciplined, gap-to-gap approach at the plate — letting the ball travel, staying up the middle, and trusting hitters who carry genuine confidence into every at-bat.

In the circle, ace Macy Bryant was the anchor. Fuller called her one of the best pitchers he has coached in his 12 years at Barbers Hill, crediting her ability to execute any pitch, in any location, on any count. Bryant has one year of eligibility remaining, and Fuller made clear the program is looking forward to it.

The motivation behind this run traces back to last season, when Barbers Hill fell to Melissa in the state championship game. Fuller said his players had the title circled on the calendar from the moment that loss happened, and that hunger carried them through the 2026 campaign. He credited the players with the award, saying the recognition belongs to them.
