Klein Oak vs Highland Park | Panthers Fall 61-43 Despite Wooten's 17 Points
Thirty wins in a single season sets a high bar, and Klein Oak carried that momentum into a matchup against Highland Park. The Panthers showed flashes of the program that earned that record, but ultimately fell short, 61-43.
Junior Tyrie Wooten was the standout performer, finishing with 17 points. The lefty connected on an open three from the wing early, then later pushed the pace in transition — using a sharp crossover to get to the basket. His ability to impact the game on both ends was evident when a defensive block turned directly into a fast-break opportunity he finished himself.
Fellow junior Marcus Epps added to the effort with a second-chance bucket, tipping in his own miss to score in the paint. In the second half, Anthony Enechukwo created space in the post and connected on a smooth fadeaway to keep Klein Oak within reach.
Despite the individual contributions, Highland Park controlled the game and pulled away for the 61-43 final.
