High School Athletes Team Up for Charity at DePelchin Center

Community service united Houston-area high school athletes with Houston Gridiron Legends at the DePelchin Children's Center. Over 100 volunteers—including Super Bowl champion Wade Phillips—planted gardens, power washed facilities, and beautified grounds during the Texas Bowl Day of Caring event.

Established in 1892, DePelchin provides critical fostering and adoption services to Texas families. Young athletes demonstrated that their impact extends beyond Friday night scoreboards, strengthening bonds between high school sports and the communities that support them.
