Tomball Sweeps Friendswood at Block Party | Texas Oncology Team of the Week

Back-to-back tournament hardware was on the line for Tomball's volleyball program. Coming off a Katy ISD tournament championship, the Cougars faced a stiff test at the Block Party against a Friendswood squad that came in with its own momentum.

Friendswood made its intentions clear early. Elaina Holtvluwer delivered a kill down the middle from the back line to set the tone, and Ayda Blackmon kept the Mustangs competitive with a big outside hit for a putaway. But Tomball answered every run. Sophia Knowles fired a cross-court winner to respond to Friendswood's early push, and Kinsley Moretti closed out game one with a bullet kill — Tomball 25, Friendswood 23.

The Cougars took control in game two. Gemma Hopkins served, Friendswood returned it, and Georgia Hornes was waiting for the easy kill. At match point, Hopkins came up with a key dig and Moretti finished it with a dink over the block to complete the sweep.

Tomball wins 2-0, earning Texas Oncology Team of the Week recognition for a dominant stretch that now includes two tournament titles in as many weeks.
