The Woodlands Stays Unbeaten in 13-6A With 54-7 Rout of Willis
District 13-6A title contenders Willis and The Woodlands met at Woodforest, and it didn't take long for one team to separate itself. Willis actually drew even early — A'Majai Friend fielded the kickoff at his own 29, side-stepped defenders, cut back across the field, and found a convoy of blockers to haul him into the end zone for a 74-yard return, knotting the score at 7-7.
That would be the last time Willis was within striking distance. Bo Duke took a direct snap, faked the handoff, and punched it in for six. In the second quarter, Kaden Copelin hit Carter Cass on a sharp play-action bullet for a 21-7 Woodlands lead. Then, just before halftime, Willis attempted a 32-yard field goal to cut into the deficit — but the kick was blocked, and Bryce Stott scooped it up and returned it 74 yards the other way, effectively putting the game out of reach.
The Woodlands won 54-7, remaining unbeaten in district play and firmly in control of the 13-6A title race. For their dominant performance, The Woodlands was named the Texas Oncology Team of the Week.
