Tank Campbell's 81-Yard Pick-6 Fuels College Park's 48-29 Win Over Grand Oaks

Tank Campbell's 81-yard pick-6 and two long TD runs from Duke Stephens powered College Park past Grand Oaks 48-29 in a key District 13-6A game.

A district matchup between two evenly matched teams rarely stays even for long. With both College Park and Grand Oaks sitting at 3-and-1 in District 13-6A, Thursday night's game carried real playoff weight — and it was a single defensive play that tipped the scales.

Grand Oaks drew first blood when quarterback Harley Adams found Kaden Carter out of the backfield, and Carter did the rest, making a pair of sharp cuts on his way to the end zone to give the Grizzlies an early 7-0 lead. But College Park's Tank Campbell answered in a big way, stepping in front of a Grand Oaks pass and returning it 81 yards for a pick-6 that flipped the scoreboard to 14-7 in favor of the Cavaliers.

Grand Oaks responded when Carter punched in a second touchdown, dragging a defender across the goal line to tie the game at 14. The Cavaliers, however, reclaimed the lead just before halftime on a 45-yard touchdown run by Duke Stephens, heading into the break up 21-17.

College Park extended its advantage on the opening drive of the second half when Camden Hughes threw back across the field to James Skaer, who walked in untouched to push the lead to 11. Stephens then put the game away with a 57-yard scoring run, his second long touchdown of the night.

The Cavaliers won going away, 48-29, improving to 4-and-1 in district play and strengthening their position in the 13-6A standings.
