Summer Creek taking on Stratford this afternoon in a 6A Division 2 3rd round game.
Down, 7-0, Stratford would put some points on the board. Aaron DeLeon throws the slant to Jackson Stewart for a 9 yard score. Extra point missed and the Spartans trail 7-6.
After a Stratford turnover, Summer Creek would add to their lead. Lloyd Avant takes the handoff at the 6 and leisurely gets into the end zone. Bulldogs up 14-6.
2nd quarter, the Spartans respond in the air again. DeLeon to Luke Rives (Ree-VUS) for a 26 yard score. 2 point conversion no good and Stratford trails 14-12.
That's when the Bulldogs were done messing around. Quarterback Blake Thomas on the keeper, what a spin move there and he heads to the pilon where he just gets the ball in for the score. Summer Creek up 21-12.
Later 2nd, Thomas with the play action and goes deep to Caleb Welch for a 42 yard score. Summer Creek up 38-12 at the half and they go on for the easy win. They will face the winner of our next game
