Magnolia at New Caney - Game of the Week

Magnolia needing a win for the district title.....New Caney fighting for a place at the table

Magnolia would strike first, this is Mitch Hall on the carry, following his blockers on the old counter trey, he shakes a couple of tackles and wins a footrace to the pylon from 36 yards out to give the Bulldogs a 7-0 lead...

New Caney answers back, out of the Wildcat formation, Kedrick Reescano (reese-ca-no) takes a shot at the goal line, its a fumble but they rule he crossed the goal line to tie the game at 7...

Magnolia would take a 21-7 lead at halftime as they go to Mitch Hall, once again getting some good blocking he finds the endzone.

In the 2nd half more of the same as the New Caney defense starting to wear down gives up another big run from Hall, he gets down to the 5 yard line - and a couple of plays later punches it in.

New Caney, trailing 28-7 and still battling...Quarterback Jaydon Tutwiler-Drew engineering a nice drive and looking for big yardage but he's picked off!!

Senior DB Nathan Hakes takes it the other way, he's got plenty of room and some blockers...

Down the near sideline, can he stay in bounds? Yes! he tightropes it 89 yards for the pick 6 and this one never in doubt, Magnolia takes the district title and will host McKinney North next week, New Caney makes the playoffs and will visit Highland Park
