Landen Williams-Callis Delivers in Clutch as Randle Survives Angleton 29-22
Two 8-0 teams. One district title on the line. Friday night delivered exactly what the matchup promised.
Richmond Randle got on the board first when Landen Williams-Callis took a carry around the right end, broke into the open field, and outran the defense for six. Angleton answered, and the Lions led just 9-7 at halftime after Kasen Jammer took a direct snap and showed enough speed to reach the end zone on his own.
Randle pushed the lead to 22-6 in the fourth quarter, but Angleton wasn't finished. Ma'Chai Williams stripped the ball on a handoff and returned it the other way to cut the deficit to 22-14. Then, with just over a minute remaining, Trey Gardner found Jake Brittain deep over a defender, and Angleton converted the two-point conversion to tie the game at 22.
The response was immediate. Randle handed the ball right back to Williams-Callis, and he did the rest — 75 yards to the house, putting the Lions back in front for good. Randle survived 29-22, and with the win, they can clinch the district title next week.
