Lamar Dominates Heights 42-7 to Earn First Win | Texas Oncology Team of the Week

It took exactly one play from scrimmage for Houston Lamar to set the tone. Quarterback Jayden Robbins faked the handoff, found Terrence Lewis wide open downfield, and Lewis did the rest — slipping an arm tackle and diving into the end zone to complete a 77-yard touchdown on the game's opening possession. Both teams had entered the contest still searching for their first win of the season, but the Texans made clear early that this night would be different.

The lead only grew from there. Late in the first quarter, Heights punter Cameron Hoffman was backed up to his own goal line when Carsten Landor fielded the kick at the 44, made the first defender miss, and found a convoy of blockers that escorted him all the way to the end zone. Lamar took a 21-0 lead into halftime.

The Texans' defense added to the statement in the second quarter when Prince Washington stepped in front of a pass, stayed on his feet, and returned the interception 27 yards. Lamar's dominance across all three phases — offense, defense, and special teams — resulted in a 42-7 final.
