November 5, 2026
Katy Jordan survived an overtime scare against Cinco Ranch 28-21 in a District 22-6A playoff elimination game, keeping their postseason hopes alive.

Playoff survival was on the line in District 22-6A, and Katy Jordan made sure to leave with a win. The Warriors defeated Katy Cinco Ranch 28-21 in overtime in a matchup that carried direct postseason implications for both programs.

Cinco Ranch controlled the first half, taking a 14-7 lead into the break behind quarterback Derek Berg and receiver Jacob Chevez. Jordan responded in the third quarter when Thomas Eugate won a jump ball and Rush Williams hauled it in for the score, pulling the Warriors back into the game.

The fourth quarter belonged to Chevez. Berg dropped back and found him on a slant route, and Chevez did the rest — shaking the first defender and racing 80 yards to the end zone to tie the game at 21 and force overtime.

Jordan got the ball first in OT, and Eugate punched it in on a quarterback sneak to give the Warriors a 28-21 edge. Cinco Ranch had one last chance, but Preston Wangler came up with a critical sack to end the drive and the game.

With the victory, Jordan keeps its playoff hopes intact. The Warriors were named the Texas Oncology Team of the Week.
