Moving down the Class 5A, Foster hits the road to face 10-0 New Caney…
Foster on the move in the first, Mario Simmons gets the handoff, makes a man miss and he bounces it outside. Simmons takes it for a big 36 yard gain deep in Eagles territory and the Falcons are in business.
A few plays later, Simmons muscles his way in from the one, Foster leads 7-0.
It’s 14-0 Foster when New Caney finds its footing. Zion Childress keeps it on the read option and travels 30 yards to cross midfield.
Later in the drive, Anthony Robles fights his way across the goalline, New Caney trails 17-14 at halftime.
In the third, Foster’s Ryan Stubblefield connects with Cody Jackson, and Jackson looks just like CeeDee Lamb used to in a Foster uniform. He takes it the distance, 75 yards for a Falcons touchdown, Foster leads 24-21 after three quarters.
Then in the fourth, it’s Isaac Johnson bulldozing his way into the end zone for a 5 yard score, and Foster ends New Caney’s perfect season, 31-21 is the final. The Falcons will get Georgetown in the next round.
