In Class 5A, Fort Bend Marshall was looking to punch their ticket to state against Killeen Ellison. They'd get off to a good start early with DeMarcus Johnson scoring on the up and under. Then they'd get out in transition with Johnson getting it ahead to Eian Lowe. Still in the first half the Buffaloes go inside again, this time to Chris Catchings, he finishes with a soft touch. This one nip and tuck all the way, neither team able to pull away, Ellison's AHZIEL McIVER spins and banks this one in. Marshall answers on the other end with Catchings splitting the defense to put the Buffs up 40-37 late in the 4th... Moments later, tied at 42, Marshall on the attack with Johson inside - but he's called for a travel. Just 8 seconds left now, Ellison turns to their go to guy AHZIEL McIVER with the fadeway jumper and that ends Ellison's season in a heartbreaker, 42-40 is the final.
