8th ranked Atascocita took on Clear Springs in a 6A Region 3 area round game.
Eagles relying on their calling card early which is solid defense. Jachai (Juh-KYE) Cantave (Con-tave) with the steal and outlet to Avion Jackson who dunks it over his defender. That's how you start a game as Atascocita was up 12-3.
For Clear Springs, Alec Belter was drilling 3's all first half including this one with a hand in his face. Belter finished with 18 points.
But the Eagles would get another steal and there's that man again....Jackson....on the break for another dunk. 22 points for him and Atascocita led 29-22 at the half.
Clear Springs fought back and when David Emelife (Em-uh-LEF-ay) hits this 3 ball, the Chargers were only down 1 with 4 minutes left.
Then his brother, Izu (Is-oo) Emelife, would get the ball in the paint and score off the glass. This game would go to overtime tied at 48.
In overtime, it's David Emelife driving and laying it in for 2 of his game high 27 points. Clear Springs with the lead.
Belter would make a free throw to put the Chargers up 3 and Jordan Maddox 3 quarter court heave hits the front of the rim....Clear Springs pulls off the huge upset, taking down Atascocita 61-58.
