Five touchdowns. That was Eyan Johnson's night as Klein Cain opened District 15-6A play with a 55-38 win over Tomball, a matchup that featured two unbeaten programs and lived up to the billing from the opening drive.

Tomball struck first on a bubble screen from Andrew Wood to Ian Thomas, who shook a defender and turned a short pass into a 62-yard touchdown. Thomas wasn't done — he added a 69-yard score later in the game, showing the kind of straight-line speed that makes him a matchup problem in the open field.

Klein Cain quarterback Jace Hanks kept the Hurricanes in rhythm throughout. A 44-yard touchdown connection with Israel Smith off play action gave Klein Cain the lead, and Hanks later drew Tomball offside to earn a free play — one he converted with a scoring strike to Tyson Freeman.
