Cy Ranch Dominates Fort Bend Hightower 24-7 in 6A Opener

September 4, 2026
Cy Ranch opened the 6A season with a 24-7 win over Fort Bend Hightower, powered by a 78-yard TD run from Kristian White and an early scoring drive.

A 6A season opener between Cy Ranch and Fort Bend Hightower had some intrigue heading in — Hightower was debuting a new quarterback in Carson White — but it was the Mustangs who controlled the game from the opening drive.

Cy Ranch wasted no time establishing the tone. Quarterback Braden Baker hit Manny Leyja on a slant route to help the Mustangs build a 10-0 advantage before Hightower could find its footing. Carson White gave the Hurricanes life in the second quarter, keeping the ball on an option play and taking it 33 yards untouched to cut the deficit to 10-7 at halftime.

Any momentum Hightower carried into the locker room evaporated quickly in the third quarter. Cy Ranch's Kristian White turned a carry into an 78-yard touchdown, pulling away from the coverage and extending the lead to 17-7. White added another score shortly after — this one from a yard out — to put the game out of reach.

Cy Ranch finished with a 24-7 victory, a statement performance in its season opener that showed both offensive balance and the kind of big-play ability that will draw attention in Class 6A.
