Alvin Moseley Dominates as Fort Bend Crawford Rolls Past La Porte 51-24

Fort Bend Crawford came into La Porte's house in Week 1 and left with a statement. The Chargers defeated the Bulldogs 51-24 in a game that started close but turned into a showcase for receiver Alvin Moseley by the fourth quarter.

La Porte drew first blood when sophomore Kade Dieudonne punched it in from four yards out to put the Bulldogs up 7-0. Crawford's defense answered with a pair of first-half safeties, capitalizing on errant throws by La Porte quarterback Joshua Wells to swing the momentum. Chargers quarterback Braylen Fisher then connected with Moseley on a 20-yard touchdown pass to give Crawford a 9-7 lead, and Elijah McLain added a 35-yard touchdown run to extend the advantage.

La Porte showed some creativity before the break, using a trick play as Wells found Dieudonne, who then fired a pass to a wide-open Payton Smith for a touchdown. But Fisher answered with a short TD run just before halftime to send Crawford into the locker room up 25-14.

Wells cut the deficit to three with a touchdown run late in the third quarter, and for a moment the Bulldogs had life. Then Moseley took over. The Crawford receiver scored on two more touchdown pass plays from Fisher in the fourth quarter and returned a punt for a score as well, turning a competitive game into a 51-24 final. Fisher finished as the catalyst for a Crawford offense that proved difficult to contain once it found its rhythm.
