Yates Lions vs. Washington Eagles - 2014 Football - Week 3

Yates took on Washington at Barnett Stadium on Friday night, and the Lions were ready for this one. Midway through the 1st quarter, Khalil Wagner with a 31 yard touchdown run to make it 16-0 Yates. It was his 2nd TD of the quarter. Late 1st Anthony Martin with an extra push to get across for a short TD, Martin had 267 yards and 2 touchdowns on the night as Yates went up 22-0. What about the Lions defense, Christopher Reed looks more like Christopher Reeve as in Superman here, he blows through for the tackle behind the line . Then Reed shows he can tackle like a Jedi Knight, just by using the force he brings the runner to his knees. Everything was going Yates way. Midway through the 2nd Quarter, Wagner with a great run, this ends up being a pickup of 50 yards once you add in the penalty for the horse collar to get Yates to the Washingon 10 yard line. On the next play, Wagner makes the extra effort once he gets to the goal line for his 3rd touchdown of the night. Wagner and Martin combined for 5 touchdowns and 428 yards rushing as Yates dominates on both sides of the ball in a 43-0 victory.
