Yates Lions vs. Waco Connally Cadets - 2013 Basketball - Week 9

The Connally Cadets were a huge underdog to the Yates Lions in the other 3A region 3 semifinal from Sam Houston. Off the inbounds pass the Cadets are going for the home run ball and Chris Harrison is there for the layup as the Cadets grab the early lead. Yates now on the run as they like to do, and the pass goes to Melvin Swift who finishes with the high percentage bucket. The Lions with so many weapons all over the floor like Joseph Anderson who jacks up a thre from way downtown and it falls to put Yates on top for the first time in the game. Then it's Darrion martin with his 2nd consecutive three ponter and just like that the Lions are up by 10 points. Another three point play for Yates here as Anderson gets the ball in stride and converts and is also fouled. Ikenna Ozz can't get the hook in the lane to fall, but Melvin Swift elevates and slams it down for 2 more as the Lions roll over the Cadets 81-50.
