Yates Lions vs. North Forest Bulldogs - 2014/15 Boys Basketball - 01/20/15

Big matchup in 20-5A as both Yates and North Forest came into game undefeated in district play. Yates gets out to a hot start, Jacob Young with the 3 pointer giving Yates a 33-16 lead. North Forest’s Deron Wiley made sure things didn’t get out of hand, the steal and the basket it was part of a 13-4 Bulldogs run. Yates Ricky Marshall stops the North Forest momentum as he takes it to the hoop. Yates had a lot of success going to the basket Troy Kinsey drives in for two as well. It was 46-35 Lions at halftime. 2nd half, North Forest never goes away, Wiley getting down the floor he finished with 34 points…What a night! North Forest would pull to within 5 points in the 3rd quarter. But Young with another great drive to the hole, he finished with 25 points to lead the Lions and Yates was just too much. The #18 ranked Lions prevail 86-80 to take a one game lead in district 20-5A.
