Yates Lions vs. Brookshire Royal Falcons - 2013 Basketball - Week 10

1st quarter Wesley Wilson goes up and gets fouled for a 3 point play it was part of a 9-0 run. Wilson led all scorers with 21 as the Falcons were up 1 after the 1st quarter, Melvin Swift gets right to work in the 2nd with the jam, then it's JC Washington who dunks it in to give Yates a 27-25 lead. Yates starts to get some momentum as Lorenzo Phillips fresh off of a 8 - 3 pointer performance in the regional finals strokes a couple of trey's. But some of the momentum is lost as Melvin Swift goes to the bench with his 3rd foul. This inbounds play worked well for Royal in the first half as Kyle Abernathy pumped in the layup on the other end. Final seconds, Joseph Anderson drives in and beats the buzzer as Yates goes into the break up 3 41-38. Yates gets control of things in the 3rd, Joseph Anderson knocks down a 3 he led the Lions with 18 as Yates went up 50-40. And then Yates up ahead to Melvin Swift who throws it down. 54-40. But Swift and Sadiq Inuwa would foul out in the 4th, and DeShaven Johnson got hot for Royal cutting the lead to 7, but Royal would get no closer. Yates moves into the finals with a 81-70 win.
