Westfield gets on the scoreboard first as Cardell Williams has plenty of time in the pocket, and that allows Ashton Callaway to get behind the secondary, Callaway takes it all the way, it’s a 91-yard touchdown pass, Mustangs lead 7-0.
Late in the 2nd, Tomball Memorial on the move as Colton Marwill connects with John Boehning(Bay-ning) for a first down deep in Mustangs territory.
Moments later, Marwill sneaks in from a yard out, and Tomball Memorial takes a 12-7 halftime lead.
It’s 15-12 in the third when Kendal Taylor has nowhere to go, so he cuts back, gets a block from WIlliams and dives for the pylon, it’s an 8-yard score and the Mustangs lead 22-12.
Then its Westfield’s vaunted defense stepping up, Ashton Harris picks off the pass and he takes off the other direction, he returns it 46 yards the other way and Westfield pulls away for a 36-26 win over Tomball Memorial, the Mustangs move on to face Waco Midway in the next round.
