West Fork Dominates Kingwood Park 34-16 | Texas Oncology Team of the Week

October 5, 2026
West Fork wins 34-16 over Kingwood Park behind two Kaden Simmons TDs and a 76-yard pick-six from Jayden Whitelow in District 9-5A-DII action.

Only a year removed from their varsity debut, the West Fork Gators are already turning heads in District 9-5A-Division II. A 34-16 victory over Kingwood Park on Friday showed this program is no longer just building — it's competing.

West Fork struck first on a direct-snap carry by Kaden Simmons, who weaved through traffic and was pushed into the end zone. The Gators extended their lead early in the second quarter when Kingwood Park quarterback Jon Pavlatos scrambled and fired across the middle, only to have Jayden Whitelow step in front of the pass and take it 76 yards to the house. Tyler Gilliam then connected with De'Juan Kizzie on a 4-yard touchdown pass just before halftime, giving West Fork a 10-point cushion at the break.

Kingwood Park made it a game in the third quarter when Carter Steele found Luis Guzman over the middle. The big receiver bounced off two tacklers and dragged a third into the end zone, cutting the deficit to four. But West Fork answered with two late touchdowns — including a second score from Simmons — to put the game away.

The 34-16 final cements West Fork as a legitimate threat in 9-5A-DII and earns the Gators the Texas Oncology Team of the Week honor.
