The UIL 6A State Swimming and Diving Championships took place at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swim Center in Austin, and Greater Houston area athletes delivered outstanding performances. The Woodlands girls team claimed their 13th state championship title, scoring 212.5 points, while the Strake Jesuit boys team finished second overall. Individual gold medalists included Conroe Oak Ridge’s Micah Tennyson in the 200 and 100 freestyle, Bridgeland’s Jackson Hartzler in the 200 IM, and Fort Bend Travis’ Kade Nilson in the 50 freestyle. On the girls side, Clear Springs’ Macy DeGroot and Bellaire’s Kadence Johnson also brought home gold medals.
