Travis Tigers vs. South Grand Prairie Warriors - 2013 Basketball - Week 10

July 21, 2018
Standing in the way of a 5A state championship Travis and the Harrison twins was South Grand Prairie. Early on it's Andrew Harrison with a sweet pass to Daniel Chika to give the Tigers a 5 point lead. Points were at a premium in this one, Andrew Harrison splits the defenders and puts it in, it was just 9-7 in the 2nd quarter. Mark Howell tough dribble drive for South Grand Prairie, but it was Travis who went into the break up 20-19. Travis gets a little cushion in the 3rd, Aaron Harrison steals it from Howell and lays it up for a 6 point lead. 4th quarter, Aaron Harrison finds the bucket again and the foul for a 3 point play, 34-29 Travis. SGP's Ben Emelogu tops that with a 4 point play, this coming after Howell steals it from Harrison. It cuts the Travis lead to 3, 39-36. But that's as close as South Grand Prairie would get Andrew Harrison hits his free throws down the stretch, he finished with 16 points and 9 rebounds as Travis brings home the title, 46-38. I mean being a McDonalds All American, Jordan Brand is great, but nothing compares to winning a state championship with the kids you grew up with, I was crying last year, but this year I feel like I went out the right way.
