Travis Tigers vs. Richardson Berkner Rams - 2013 Basketball - Week 10
July 21, 2018
We start with Travis in the 5A semifinals, back in Austin for the 2nd straight year taking on Richardson Berkner. Early on Aaron Harrison makes his way through the Berkner defense to get Travis on the board, but that was the only shot from the field either of the Harrison twins would make in the first half. Berkner had control early, Kendal Harris flips it over to Soma Edo to give Berkner a 7 point lead midway thru the first. Edo will be playing for Fresno State next season. Travis doesn't go away, even though the Harrison twins didn't have the shooting touch in the first half, they were able to get others involved in the scoring, Andrew Harrison kicks it out to Tyronne Jordan for this baseline 3 pointer in the 2nd quarter and then Harrison with a great spin move to find Jordan in the other corner for another three pointer, and the Tigers were able to cut the deficit to 2 with just over 3 left before the half. 2nd half Berkner goes to Kendal Harris who shows why he's one of the top guards in the country knocking down the long 2, Harris was the only Berkner player who would get into double figures though. The Harrison twins start to take things over, Aaron dribbles around before going baseline for the dunk. Then Andrew takes a turn going through the Berkner defense. Andrew lofts it up for Aaron and the Tigers take their first lead of the game 34-32 with just over 2 minutes left in the 3rd. Once Travis had the lead, they never gave it up, the Andrew to Aaron combo works once more late in the fourth Aaron finished with 19 points, Andrew had 18 to go along with 7 assists as Travis gets back to the state finals 60-52.
