Tidehaven vs Gunter - 2023 Week 17 Football Highlights

Tidehaven entered AT&T Stadium for the Tigers first state title game since 1980 as they took on defending 3A Division 2 champs, Gunter. First quarter, Joseph Dodds, the Baylor commit, finds an opening on the left side and takes it 43 yards to the 3 yard line until he was pushed out of bounds. But that set up the games first score, Kale Russell with the pump fake and then let's Dodds go up and get it for an 11 yard touchdown catch. 7-0 Tidehaven. 2nd quarter, and the Tigers of Tidehaven (both teams named Tigers) trailed 17-7, but they got another boost of energy from Dodds as he rips off a 61 yard run to the house for a touchdown. Tidehaven trailed by only 3 at half and Dodds finished with 169 yards rushing. But Gunter would pull away in the second half. Walker Overman throws the screen to Cannon Lemberg and he weaves around the field for a 68 yard score. Tidehaven's season ends with a 30-14 loss to Gunter.
