It’s 7-3 in the 2nd, when Lamar’s Marcus Brown comes off the edge from the blind side, big time sack right there for the Texans defense. But the Highlanders build a 14-3 halftime lead, as Jack Calhoun takes the handoff around the right side and into the end zone for a 7-yard score. The Woodlands in control of this one. The Highlanders know how to start a half the right way. First play from scrimmage of the third quarter, Dawson Shepherd picks off the pass and he takes it 30 yards for The Woodlands touchdown. Highlanders up 21-3. Lamar looking to get back into it, quarterback Troy Tisdale using his feet, he scrambles, picks up a block, and takes it all the way down to the one-yard line. Caleb Randle bruises his way into the end zone on the very next play for a Texans touchdown, but Lamar still trails 21-10. In the fourth, Ben Mills flares it out for Cole Dodson and that’s good for a 5-yard highlanders touchdown, and The Woodlands pulls away for a 31-10 win over Lamar.
