Terry Rangers vs. Arlington Heights Yellow Jackets - 2013 Basketball - Week 10
In 4A Terry took on Arlington Heights out of Fort Worth and it wasn't just a state semifinal but also a battle of All American football players in Derrick Griffin who's headed to Miami and A'Shawn Robinson who is off to Alabama. Terry jumps out to a quick 7-0 lead when Billy White cans the three pointer. Derrick Griffin in the paint gets control of things and throws it down as Terry is rolling, but it wasn't all rosy for the Rangers as Griffin headed to the bench after collecting his 3rd foul early in the 2nd quarter. Arlington Heights went on an 11-0 run behind the 6-6 300 pound defensive Lineman err post A'Shawn Robinson he even dropped in a 3 pointer. A'Shawn had 9of the 11 points for the Yellowjackets and we were tied at 20. 3rd quarter White forces the steal and the Rangers get it ahead to Griffin for the slam and a 29-22 lead. Then Griffin with a great play on defense robbing Damontre McFarland of 2 points. 4th quarter A'Shawn trying to play a little point, but loses the handle. Eugene Wright flips it to Billy White and a 36-27 lead. White led the Rangers with 13. Late in the 4th the Rangers force another turnover Michael Maxwell is the beneficiary on the scoring end and the Rangers roll into the finals 46-33.
