Atascocita already up 7-0 in the first when quarterback Brice Matthews zips one downfield to a wide open Darius Edmonds, it’s a 31-yard touchdown pass play, Eagles lead 14-0 after one.
In the 2nd, TJ Thomas gets the carry, and how about the blocking up front, Thomas gets to the sideline and turns on the after burners, he races 70 yards for an Atascocita, and the rout is on for the Eagles.
More problems for Summer Creek on the ensuing kickoff, the Bulldogs can’t handle the kick and Daniel Onwuachi(On-woo-otch-ee) slides in for the Atascocita recovery, setting up the Eagles with great field position.
Matthews cashes it into points, as he trots in from a yard out, and Atascocita leads 35-0 at halftime.
Atascocita’s special teams comes up big again in the third, Caleb Burton fields the punt at his own 37 yard line, and he sees a lane up the middle of the field and picks up a couple of blocks. Burton returns it 59 yards before finally being brought down inside the 5.
Moments later, it’s Thomas, right up the gut for a 4 yard touchdown, it’s his third score of the contest and Atascocita leads 42-0.
Thomas isn’t done however. He bursts the hole and there’s nobody between him and the end zone. You’re not gonna catch him from behind, Thomas takes it the distance, 90 yards all the way for the touchdown. He rushes for 249 yards and 4 touchdowns, as Atascocita improves to 7-1 with a 63-14 win over Summer Creek.
