Stratford and Memorial renew their rivalry Thursday night at Tully Stadium…
Memorial’s defense setting the early tone in this one. Stratford looking to pass but Sean Sheets leaps for the Mustangs’ interception.
It’s scoreless midway through the 2nd, until Memorial QB Matt Sanders calls his own number, turns it upfield, and finds the end zone from 3 yards out, Mustangs lead it 7-0.
Stratford looking to answer through the air, AJ Abbott airs it out for Dareese Steptoe. It’s a 45 yard gain that leads to a Spartans field goal and makes the score 7-3 heading to halftime.
The Mustangs pick up the pace in the third quarter however. Carson Zahn takes the handoff through a huge hole and goes 40 yards untouched to the house and Memorial leads 14-3.
More Mustangs, Sanders decides to keep it on the read option, and he bursts through a big hole as well. Sanders takes it the distance, 68 yards for another Memorial touchdown. Mustangs in control up 21-3.
Still in the 3rd, Sanders on the keeper again, he rushes for 117 yards and 3 touchdowns, as Memorial rolls past Stratford, 31-3 is the final.
