Sam Rayburn Texans vs. Wheatley Wildcats 2014/15 Boys Basketball - 12/19/14

We start the HISD boys action with Wheatley who is ranked 3rd in the state in 4A taking on Sam Rayburn who's made the playoffs 2 of the last 3 seasons. Midway through the first Stephen Alaniz with a teardrop to give the Texans an early lead. The Wildcats with the full court offense over to Gerald Thomas. This was part of an 11-2 run to get the lead. Thomas paced the Wildcats with 15. Justin Jaramillo to Bobby Cavazos who splits through the defenders, Sam Rayburn goes into the break up 23-21. Sam Rayburn jumps out in a hurry in the 3rd quarter. Kyre Edwards takes it to the hole. Edwards led the way with 16 points and Sam Rayburn had a 16 point lead early in the 4th. Thomas get the loose ball and Wheatley makes a game of it pulling to within 3 with under 30 seconds to play. But the Texans break the press and Deante Hunt finishes at the other end. Sam Rayburn moves to 9-4 with the win, 56-51
