Ridge Point VS Fort Bend Travis - 2019 Week 8 Football Highlights

Ridge Point puts its 27-game district winning streak on the line against undefeated and 6-0 Fort Bend Travis…

Travis comes out swinging, Eric Rodriguez keeps it on the read option and wiggles his way into the end zone from 8 yards out, Tigers up 7-3 after one.

Ridge Point gets rolling in the 2nd, as the Will Pendergrass tosses the screen to John Paul Richardson, Richardson sees a lane and turns it upfield, he goes 50 yards for the score and that evens it up at 10 apiece.

Travis turns to the aerial attack, Rodriguez with all day in the pocket, he lets it fly deep for Mike Samba, it’s a 48-yard gain that leads to a field goal, Tigers lead 13-10 at intermission.

In the 3rd, Kalen Shankle extends the Travis lead as he trots in from a yard out, it’s 20-10 Tigers.

But Ridge Point responds on the ensuing kickoff, Micah Ceasar fields the kick at his own 28 and quite simply runs right through the Travis special teams. Nothing fancy about it, Ceasar sprints 72 yards to the house and the Panthers are right back in it, down 20-17.

Later in the third, Pendergrass fires downfield for Keith Jackson, and Whoa Nelly, Jackson is gone. It’s a 50-yard touchdown pass play and Ridge Point takes the lead, 23-20.

Same score, midway through the fourth, when Rodriguez lofts one into the end zone for Colin Mushinski, it’s a 10-yard scoring strike and Travis reclaims the lead, 27-23.

Ridge Point’s last chance in the waning moments, Pendergrass lets the Hail Mary fly toward the end zone...but Mason Muchaw comes down with it for the Travis interception, and Fort Bend Travis snaps Ridge Point’s 27-game district winning streak, 27-23 is the final.
